What could possibly be a reason for refusing to have church services but still meet in mass gatherings for Wokeness? There is only one plausible answer. These folks have converted from Christianity to embrace the Popularity Gospel.

The Religion of Wokeness is not compatible with Christianity. It has its own doctrines, own worship, own ordinances (chiefly, protest and virtue-signaling), and own messiah-figures. It has its own, competing version of confession, repentance, and atonement.

True Christians need to reject Wokeness – and the high priests of Wokeness – as fierce opposition to the Lordship of Christ and true Christian religion.

Socialism is un-Christian and un-American, and needs to be rejected.  In 2023, we have a president, in obvious mental decline, who professes to be Catholic, while endorsing with his lips, a Socialism, anti-Israel agenda; speeches sprinkled with statements of disunity, blatant lies, and profanity (in one recent instance, taking God's name in vain), all of which is un-Christian. We have some anti-Christian members of Congress who do not stand for the historical moral values of our Country. I am, thankfully, hearing of more and more Christians who have had enough of this rubbish and are standing up for what is morally and ethically right.  It's time that we follow all the teachings of Jesus and tell the truth. With a graduate-level background in medical psychology, I stand by my assessment of President Biden: he is seriously cognitively impaired, and needs to retire.  He has done enormous cultural, political, and social damage to the historic fabric of our country. We should feel sorry for his health, as many Americans know of family members who have gone through this type of illness; but we cannot be silent and support his re-election. If you think that too much emphasis about politics is placed on this web page, I make no apology. I was brought up in a Christian family, by Christian parents who taught us children to tell the truth; and I'm not going to pretend that what is currently happening in our country, is right. The Bible is very clear about these matters.  

It's unfortunate that I have a nephew of a second cousin who supported the BLM (a Marxist-founded organization) trying to remove historic statues across our country, and a first cousin who gave $10,000 to a Democrat candidate...who lost his election. I could think of better ways to spend my time and money.  The trouble with my liberal friends is not that they are ignorant, it's just that they know so much that isn't so.  

May I say that my Mother who grew up in the Great Depression, and, from what I know, supported FDR. She told me that her mother, Mrs. Katharine Read, had to pawn her wedding ring to get the children's teeth fixed at the dentist; that she learned, with her grandmother, Lillah Porter Read, to drink coffee without sugar.  They were living in 

dire circumstances. They grew up in a day when a person's religious beliefs and character were important; shaped by their upbringing in a family that placed God, the Bible, and religious teaching at the center.  And they were not always wed to one political party as research clearly shows.  Primary sources reported on "The Old South" web page, show that several members of the Read side of my family, voted Democrat one year, but switched to Republican the next year. The evidence indicates that they were concerned with the Christian character and conduct of the individuals who were running for office. On the "Read Family Story" webpage, sources reveal that John and Dicey Read did not follow the same political party as other family members.  He supported Andrew Jackson and did not support Lincoln.  The voting patterns/results in that region of Mississippi are absolutely clear.

I truly believe that my parents would be appalled at the lack and application of Christian principles by some of their present-day relatives with regard to our current situation in America.

People who don't do their homework, and rely on un-informed mainstream media 'talking heads' to do their thinking for them, need to realize the eternal consequences of their influence on others.

Christians have a role to play in their family and their society; an active role, with love, truth, and civility, in letting Christ's light shine in the darkness: not just sit in a Sunday church service and then, go into the world and be silent as church mice! No, we are to call the world back to Jesus.

And in order to play that role, a Christian must be right within himself.  He also must understand who are the ungodly, untruthful, unprincipled, underhanded; and not stand with or support those individuals who run for any local, state, or national office.

Psalm 1 speaks to this issue; one of the first scriptures my brother and I memorized as children:

We need to pray for a tidal wave of change and revival in our country.

We need a return of the Voice of God thundering through prophets standing in America’s pulpits. Not the prissy Purpose Driven drivel passing as the Gospel today. The feminized-preachers of today cannot hold a candle to those who ushered in The Great Awakening which led to the American Revolution, and the abolition of slavery — two world-changing events spearheaded by the pulpit.

When America comes to repentance, foolishness will end, and evil, demented, corrupt politicians, with their calling an opposing candidate and his party 'a threat to democracy,' will find they themselves out of a job. That won’t happen until an army of Jonah’s rise up with prophecy that the doom of America is at hand; that we are facing serious threats to our Christian democratic way of life from other nations run by ruthless tyrants that do not love God.  We need preaching that calls for repentance and return to sound biblical sensibility and morality.  We need to stand firm in our Christian principles.

As John Adams, second president of the United States and signer of the Declaration of Independence said, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

It is time for the Church in America to find its voice again. It is time for Christians to be the salt and light of the earth. We will be hated for it and persecuted. Jesus told us we would. We are not persecuted now because we have been silent, as Satan wishes. It is time. Let there be silence from the pulpit no longer.

In sum, Biden’s address was cringe-worthy, fatuous, bizarre, tone deaf, vicious, un-Christian, delusional, and deeply distressing. The State of the Union is almost at suicide watch.  Christians must pray for this man who is dividing our nation with hate, not unity.

And, he has advice  from 'historians' who have fed into his emotional state, such as Michael Beschloss; a historian who has become a political mouthpiece and shill for Joe Biden.

Cal Thomas: Biden’s continued cynical use of race

President Joe Biden is “down” with Black voters and I’m not speaking street slang.

A new USA Today/Suffolk University Poll reveals one in five Black voters say they will support a third-party candidate instead of the president. That’s down substantially from the 92% of non-Hispanic Blacks who voted for Biden in 2020, according to the Pew Research Center.

The president’s strategy for shoring up his and Democrats’ most loyal supporters? Telling them their biggest threat is “white supremacy.”

Nothing about the failing schools so many poor and minority children feel trapped in; or violence in big cities that kill many young Black men most weekends and increasingly during the week; or the disproportionate abortion rate among Black women that has kept their percentage of the population mostly stagnant; or the necessity of putting more Black fathers in homes to provide loving disciple to their children.

Biden has a long history of using race as a political weapon while doing little to improve the lives of Black Americans.

Speaking at the Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina, where in 2015 a white gunman shot and killed nine members of a Bible study, Biden again demonstrated his insincerity about race by making statements that have been proven false.

He claimed to have been a “civil rights activist.” He wasn’t. He claimed to have “spent more time in the Bethel AME Church in Wilmington, Delaware, than most people I know, Black or white.” He hasn’t. He also claimed that church was “where I started a civil rights movement.” He didn’t.

As a New York Post editorial noted, “(Biden has) pushed such baloney time and again.” He has claimed to have been arrested during civil rights demonstrations and while on the way to see Nelson Mandela in prison. Neither is true.

Biden claimed to have persuaded segregationist Sen. Strom Thurmond to vote for the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Wrong on two counts. Thurmond did not vote for the act and Biden was not in the Senate in 1964.

There was also his 2006 remark: “You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.” In 2020, he said if Blacks didn’t vote for him “you ain’t Black.” In 2010, he warmly eulogized Sen. Robert Byrd, a former Exalted Cyclops in the Ku Klux Klan, saying he was “one of my mentors” and that “the Senate is a lesser place for his going.” As early as 1977, Biden said that forced busing to desegregate schools would cause his children to “grow up in a racial jungle.” In 2007, he referred to Barack Obama as “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean.”

So many more examples, but not enough space.

Democrats have played the race card for decades, even blaming poor performances (see former Harvard President Claudine Gay) on bigotry, not plagiarism and a failure to denounce antisemitic campus demonstrations. Their talk has been cheap and the results negligible. One wonders why so many still vote for them given their record. White Democrats only show up in Black churches at election time and are not seen for another two or four years. Shouldn’t that tell them something?

White supremacy is a minority view. Christians call it a sin. There are no pure-bred people. We are all mixed up in the great gene pool of life, as Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. has brilliantly demonstrated in several PBS programs on African American lives. To hate another person because of their race is to hate a part of one’s self.

Given the declining poll numbers for Biden, among especially young Black voters, it would appear they are starting to figure out how Democrats have duped them for decades. Biden’s out-of-touch speech in Charleston is likely to do little to improve his favorability among their party’s once solid voting bloc.
